You should be using AI, but be smarter than your competitors.

The AI revolution is already inside Amazon. Almost everyone is using it.
So what makes you different - and better?
Not "using AI." That is table stakes. Smart is knowing when the file needs a tag, and when it does not, while your competitors rush blind into Q4.
Seller Central News_Amazon: you must tag product images that contain photorealistic AI-generated people with specific metadata before you add them to listings and A+ content in any worldwide stores.
Amazon's stated reason: recent legislation requires disclosure when images or videos in advertisements contain photorealistic AI-generated people.
How: an IPTC-compatible metadata editor. Add the keyword contains-synthetic-performer to the dc:subject (XMP) field before you upload.
When that metadata is included, Amazon will add an indicator to inform customers that the image includes AI-generated people, where applicable.
The requirement only hits if the image or video contains photorealistic AI-generated people.
You do not need this metadata if the file only features real people, even if altered with AI tools. Or only characters from films, TV, streaming, documentaries, video games, or other expressive works. Or no people. Or people that are not photorealistic.
Hands, the back of a head, a face you cannot see: Amazon did not answer that on this notice. Old uploads versus new only: also unanswered here. I will not invent either one.
Use the AI. Tag when the rule hits. Stay clean with customers and with Amazon. That is how you stay smarter than your competitors.
