Amazon did not ban bundles - it moved the packaging bar
I keep hearing people say Amazon banned bundles.
That is not what happened.
What changes January 11, 2027
From January 11, 2027, most product bundles listed as a single ASIN must be packaged by the original manufacturer or brand. Seller-assembled kits - prep-center snack packs, first-aid mixes, multi-brand sets - without a letter of authorization that allows reconfigure and repack, a Virtual Bundles path, or an exempt browse node / product type, can get the listing deactivated and an Account Health listing violation, with email notice.
Noncompliant inventory may still sell through before that date. After the cliff, Amazon points sellers at removal orders for FBA stock that will not pass.
Amazon's own Seller News permalink for this notice is still UNKNOWN on our public scrape. Decode aligns across secondary reports of the Seller Forums news post (week of September 7-11, 2026) and help path G200442350. Do not invent a forums UUID.
What stays open
Same notice is two-way:
- Gift browse nodes and camera product types stay exempt from the manufacturer-pack requirement.
- Virtual Bundles (brand owners and authorized resellers) are not physically co-packed, so they sit outside that configuration rule.
- Bundling opens in books, music, video, DVD, and video games.
- Gift cards and service plans can sit inside a bundle.
- Multi-brand consumables return as a documented path when letters of authorization are in place.

Sort ASINs now. Sell through what will not pass. Get real LOAs - or rebuild on Virtual Bundles - before January 11.
